What will you have to do?

  • Craft persuasive and detailed proposals;
  • Ensure all proposal deadlines are met;
  • Identify opportunities for bid submissions;
  • Take the lead role and manage the tender from opportunity identification to submission;
  • Conduct research and brainstorming key points to include the bid;
  • Perform risk assessments and address concerns of customers and company staff;
  • Project manage multiple documents with strict deadlines;
  • Interface with management and sales staff to ensure that proposals meet client/prospect requirements and reflect sales strategy;
  • Incorporate all information into a presentable, professional, and competitive presentation aligned with firm branding and narrative;
  • Develop tailored proposal content for nontechnical and technical sections through coordination with appropriate subject matter experts;
  • Engage and communicate effectively with Senior Management to keep them informed on bid activities;
  • Review contractual documentation, invitation to tender or request for quotation terms and conditions;
  • Devise a successful strategy for winning a bid, including pinpointing the unique selling points (key differentiators) of BKM-Orange, knowing your company’s operating and profit margins and understanding the clients’ specific requirements;
  • Work with key members (both internally and externally) to obtain the information required to compile the bid;
  • Assess and address the technical and commercial risks relating to the bid;
  • Respond to clients’ and other stakeholders’ queries before, during and after the bid has been submitted;
  • If the bid is successful, brief the teams who will carry out the project work;
  • Research current and future market trends.

Who are we looking for?

  • At least bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant business experience;
  • Proven career with proven years’ experience in a project or tender managing role within a similar commercial environment;
  • Experience as a bid writer as well as an APMP certificate is advantageous;
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills in Dutch (preferably also in French and English);
  • Highly autonomous yet team player with strong interpersonal abilities;
  • Strong knowledge of new and traditional proposals tools;
  • Extensive interest and experience in the telecom and IT industry and a willingness to keep up with trends;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Deadline-driven and committed to excellence;
  • Creative and innovative thinking;
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Strong personality that knows when to stand ground;
  • Willingness to gain professional qualifications (eg APMP: Association of Proposal Management Professionals) while working in the role;
  • Good communicator, able to successfully manage and deliver multiple priorities for Internal and external stakeholders;
  • Excellent computing skills, particularly Microsoft Office suite;
  • Able to manage and monitor project schedule, timelines, and milestones from initiation to delivery to meet RFP requirements;
  • Bid to win mind-set and strong say/do ratio;
  • Confident and competent presenter at all levels;
  • Ability to integrate with personnel at all levels within a truly global business environment;
  • Structured way of working and process driven;
  • Able to prioritize and manage time;
  • Respects deadlines and communicates in a transparent and open manner in case a deadline cannot be met.
